In the early 1980’s Jordan Bow researched developing aquaculture programs in Hawaii. Enthused by his findings Jordan began to market Hawaiian Blue prawns to fine dining establishments throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1985 a business was born as Royal Hawaiian Seafood.

It did not take long before chefs were asking for a variety of seafood products from Hawaii and other South Pacific regions. Jordan soon had the Royal Hawaiian Seafood team sourcing many exotic products to match that growing demand. Royal Hawaiian Seafood has developed a reputation that is synonymous with high quality products and service.

Royal Hawaiian Seafood focuses on fresh and live seafood but also offers a wide range of high caliber frozen seafood items. Fresh fish are procured from all points on the globe and arrive daily for processing in our state-of-the-art facility with its advanced refrigeration system and live tank configuration. Each of the delivery trucks in the Royal Hawaiian Sefood fleet are well insulated and equipped with leading edge cooling technology that undergoes regular maintenance to ensure effective and efficient performance.

Royal Hawaiian Seafood receives regular inspections from Federal, State and Local agencies to maintain certifications warranting compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. We purchase from trusted sources assuring delivery of the highest quality seafood. We promote the use of sustainable fishing methods from well managed fisheries as well as environmentally friendly aquaculture programs.

From its beginnings Royal Hawaiian Seafood has supported local and regional souces by purchasing directly from fishermen and oyster growers which enables a clearly defined avenue of control. The close relationships developed over the years with our many sources provides the desired traceability for many of our featured products.. As an example our Royal Sweet Scallops can be traced to a small group of fishermen that harvest from the Nantucket Lighthouse fishing region near New Bedford Massachusetts.

The Royal Hawaiian Seafood sales staff takes pride in establishing close communication with our roster of customers. As former chefs the sales staff has in excess of 80 years of collective kitchen experience which allows for great insight into the challenges chefs face each day. Members of the sales group are available to advise on practical and profitable seasonal seafood choices.

Royal Hawaiian Seafood provides the highest grade of seafood to restaurants, hotels, and retail outlets in San Francisco and throughout the entire San Francisco Bay Area from the Napa and Sonoma Wine Country to Monterey and Carmel as well as points in the East Bay. Royal Hawaiian Seafood's goal is to build on our good reputation developing the product line to better serve our customers tastes for fresh and exotic seafood.
